Introduction
Listowel Childcare was established in September 2007. The 4,500 sq ft crèche has been designed to very high standards and this is reflected in the building, equipment, play area and team employed.
Under the guiding hand of Crèche Manager, Carol Wren Guiney, the Listowel Childcare team takes great pride in ensuring your children enjoy their time in the crèche. We adhere to the child:team member ratios recommended by the Health Service Executive (HSE).
The Play-Based Preschool classroom:
- Plenty of time is dedicated to outdoor activities and free play.
- Premises equipped with large outdoor areas and facilities, such as playground, mini pool, swings, etc.
- Most activities are not planned ahead of time, but are spontaneously decided
- Children are free to move around the designated area for play, without restriction as to the activity he/she wants to carry out.
- Learning is child-centred, teachers act as facilitators, answering any questions the children may have with what they were playing with, and taking the opportunity to expand the child’s learning.
We support the children transition to Primary School and minimize any stress they might feel adjusting to a new setting as we are fully committed to having the best possible start for each child in Listowel Childcare.
Partnership with parents
We value the relationships we have with parents, as this promotes a positive atmosphere and a trust that carries through until your child leaves. We would kindly invite all the parents to take part in their children’s learning by joining us during outings and trips, story reading, cultural celebrations and many other events.
Parent feedback is constantly encouraged by management on an on-going basis. Managers or Supervisors are on duty at all times.
The staff are more than willing to answer any questions you may have regarding your child’s day.
